Happy New Year!!

010109 001.jpgNew Year’s Eve 2009 brought Brittany to Nashville for a visit and a final farwell before we depart for Colorado. Since Brittany will be making her first trip out to see us during ski season we couldn’t pass the on the opportunity to teach her the basics of ski gear and form. New Year’s came at 11:00 with the ball drop from New York City and then at midnight with a repeat of the ball drop from New York City. We seem to get overlooked when it comes to New Year’s celebrations here in Central time.

New Year’s Day was the Polar Bear Plunge sponsored by the YMCA and held at Percy Priest Lake. The windchill had it at 30 degrees with the water temperature a balmy 42 degrees. Brittany and J were geared up and ready for the plunge.  J and Brittany along with 300 others took the plunge. J was pulling Brittany in the water and she was pulling him out of the water as fast as she could go.  It was a sight to see!! Somebody had to sacrifice and take the pictures, it was a hard sacrifice for me!! Happy New Year, from a great 08 to a fine 09!!!!!

    Can we come visit too? And you call that cold? It was ~15º here and HONKING, but we stayed home and enjoyed the fire…

    Can I just say J and Brittany are crazy?? Haha. Looks like they had fun with this once in a lifetime experience! And by the way, I love the pic with you guys at new years and your 2009 glasses. Happy New Year!!
